Hunter and his surgery

Hello family and friends- hopefully this will reach some of you we don't talk to very often. Hunter had surgery this past Tuesday to remove his tonsils and adenoids (just learned how to spell that). We have been having issues since he was about 6 months with drainage and congestion. Finally the doctor says ya his tonsils and adenoids are the cause of that. Cody and I discussed the pros and cons for day and went back and forth on what we should do. At his age there are so many things that could go wrong and hospitalization would be the only answer. Finally we decided that God was telling us this would be the right choice to go ahead and schedule the surgery. Hunter has had 2 sets of ear tubes put in since was 12 months old so this was routine for us. He fought us the moment we pulled into the parking lot of the hospital. The surgery went quick and he did very well. We had GREAT people helping us out the whole way. We thank everyone for their prayers and thoughts. So he was outta surgery and very loopy and tired. We went home that day and the only way you could tell something was up was his voice. He was playing with Bubba and having a grand old time. Then the days to come were harder. He refused to take his meds and refused to drink, which was one of the cons that something would go wrong- dehydration. I have really worked with him on taking his meds and he is back to doing well. He is drinking again little by little so far so good! We have a long ways to go before he is healed completely.
We got to see his tonsils afterwards- they are suppose to be the size of his thumb nail- well lets just say they were the size of Cody's thumb! WAY TOOO BIG- hopefully this will clear things up for him. Again we appreciate all your thoughts and prayers- we could not have done it without those!
